Fehr’s big night starts road swing with sweep

BRANDON, Man. – Setter Anya Fehr seemingly did it all Friday night.

The second-year setter guided the Calgary Dinos women’s volleyball team’s attack with 24 assists, while also filling up the stat sheet with five kills, two aces, two blocks and two digs in a convincing three-set sweep of Brandon Friday night from the Healthy Living Centre.

As a team, the Dinos hit an outstanding .436 on the night, powering to the straight-sets win, 25-18, 25-15, 25-13.

The win is a big one for Calgary, moving them to 5-12 on the year and into the final playoff spot in the Canada West standings with three games to play.

Sophia Hansen led the attack on the night for the Dinos, finishing with a game-high 14 kills on 24 swings for a .500 hitting clip.

Daisy Olsen also did well, finishing with seven kills while hitting an impressive .412 to go with a game-high eight digs.

Defensively, Calgary limited Brandon to just a .059 attack on the night – forcing 18 errors.

The Dinos and Bobcats finish out their weekend head-to-head Saturday at 5:45 p.m. MT.
