Boermans & De Groot snatch Brasilia Elite gold

“It’s amazing!” exclaimed Boermans on the court after the match. “I’ve got the best defender in my team. I’ve got a few blocks here and there, but it was so hard for us… So compliments to the Brazilian team for making it to the final again here in Brasilia! And I’m so happy for our team that we managed to get another medal.”

“We knew that Evandro was the best server on the Tour, so we needed to be prepared,” De Groot added. “To get this gold medal, we played really well after the first matches and I am really proud of how we did there.”

In a 53-minute bronze medal match, top-seeded Mol & Sorum squeezed out a tight 2-1 (21-16, 19-21, 20-18) victory over fifth-seeded Michal Bryl & Bartosz Losiak of Poland. Mol had a field day in blocking and put up as many as eight stuffs towards the victory, leading his team with a total of 25 points. Sorum was on fire in attack with 22 kills, while Bryl was the best scorer of the match with 29 points.
