MEN’S VOLLEYBALL: LAKERS EARN A ROAD SPLIT AHEAD OF PLAYOFFS

The Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team wrapped up the regular season this past weekend on the road in a final tune-up for the OUA Playoffs.

The Lakers faced the Brock Badgers and dropped a hard fought 3-2 match Friday night, before rebounding to sweep Saturday’s weekend finale.

To begin the weekend, Nipissing lost a tough 3-2 (25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 20-25, 13-15) decision Friday night.

Marc Marchand and Taydon Shantz each had 10 kills in the victory for the Lakers.

Saturday, Nipissing swept Brock, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) to wrap up the reason and finish with 12 wins.

Ben Franz led the Lakers with 11 kills in the victory.

Nipissing will now hit the road to take on the York Lions in Round 1 of the post-season.
